Billing
What you pay for is the sites you keep live, plus any packs you add to your workspace. This page is about managing that: subscribing a site, your cards, invoices, and what happens when a payment fails. For what things cost, see Site pricing and Account and plans.
⭐ Billing belongs to a workspace. Your personal workspace and each organization have their own subscriptions, cards and invoices; switch workspace to see an organization's — if you are one of its administrators (other members see that its billing is for its administrators). See Organizations.
Subscribing a site
A site gets its subscription the first time you publish it. Publishing a site with no subscription opens Subscribe to publish: choose monthly or yearly and the features you want, add a promotion code if you have one, and pay. You're back in the editor, and the site goes live. A site that an organization hosts free publishes without a subscription, and has no Billing pages.
Later, if a change you make — another language, a feature turned on in Settings → Features — changes what the site costs, publishing shows the new price and asks you to agree first (Confirm and publish). Nothing changes until you do.
One site's billing
Open the site's Settings; its Billing group has two pages:
- Overview — what the site costs and why, and the card it charges, with Change card, Switch to yearly and Cancel subscription;
- Invoices — the charges for this site, with a link to All invoices for this workspace.
All your sites: Settings → Hosting
Settings → Hosting lists every site subscription in the workspace with its status, and the actions each needs — for example Retry payment after a failed charge, Switch to yearly, Change (the card), Cancel subscription or Reactivate. A yearly subscription can't be switched to monthly from the app: "Yearly plans stay yearly until {date}. Switching to monthly isn't self-serve — contact support if you need it."
Cards
Settings → Payments & invoices → Payment methods holds the workspace's cards:
- Add card;
- Set as default;
- Remove card — refused while a site still charges that card; move that site to another card first.
Each site can charge a specific card, chosen with Change card on its billing Overview.
Invoices
Settings → Payments & invoices → Billing history lists the workspace's invoices, each with Download. A site's own invoices are also on its Invoices page.
When a payment fails
A declined payment doesn't take your site down straight away. The payment is retried, and the site stays online while you fix it. You are told in the app and by email — an email you can't turn off.
Fix it from Settings → Hosting: Retry payment, or switch the site to another card (or add a new one) and retry.
⚠️ If the payment can't be collected, the subscription ends and the site is unpublished — the same as cancelling, below.
Cancelling and reactivating
Cancel subscription is on the site's billing Overview and in Settings → Hosting. It asks how:
- Cancel at the end of the period — nothing changes today; the site stays live until the period you've paid for ends. Until then, Reactivate (one press) undoes the cancellation and billing simply carries on.
- Cancel and stop serving now (or Cancel now) — the subscription ends and the site goes offline shortly after. ⚠️ There is no refund for the rest of the period — to get the time you've paid for, cancel at the end of the period instead.
If the site has App Services, the dialog warns that cancelling ends them too.
Keep subscription closes the dialog without changing anything. Reactivating needs the person who pays for the site.
When a subscription ends, the site is unpublished — it goes offline — but nothing is deleted: its pages, design and records stay exactly as they are, as if you had pressed Unpublish.
To bring it back, press Publish on the site's Deploy settings: you're asked to subscribe, then it's published again. Nothing republishes on its own. "It keeps its address unless you've renamed it."
