Signing in and your account
Your Uniweb account is one sign-in for everything: your personal workspace, the organizations you belong to, and the sites shared with you. This page covers creating it, signing in, and getting back in when you can't.
Creating an account
The sign-in page creates accounts too — "Sign in or create your account". Enter your email and choose:
- Email me a code — Uniweb emails you an 8-digit code (and a link that does the same); enter it to finish. The code is valid for 10 minutes.
- Use a password — choose a password; there is no username to pick. Uniweb emails you a link to verify your address, and you can sign in once you've used it. Your handle is made from your email address, and you can change it later in your account settings.
You can also sign up with Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft, if your sign-in page offers them.
Signing in
On the same page, enter your email and choose Email me a code, or Use a password to sign in with your email or username and your password (your @handle works as the username). Or use Google or Microsoft, if that is how you signed up.
If your email already has an account and you try a Google or Microsoft sign-in with it, Uniweb asks you to Sign in and connect — sign in the usual way once, and the two are linked, so either works from then on.
If your account has two-factor authentication, the sign-in page asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app after your password.
Coming from an invitation
An invitation to an organization, or a site shared with you by email, links to Uniweb. If you don't have an account yet, create one from that link; the invitation waits for you ("Your invitation is waiting for you."). Anything shared with you is added to your workspace once you sign in. An organization invitation still needs accepting, from the notification bell — see Organizations.
Forgot your password?
Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and enter your email. Uniweb emails you a link; open it and choose Set new password. If your account has two-factor authentication, you are asked for your code here too.
⚠️ Resetting is the only way to change your password today. The Change password button in Settings → General is marked Coming soon.
Signing out
Open your avatar menu (top right) and choose Sign out.
What you can't change yet
Your email address can't be changed, two-factor authentication can't be set up or removed in the app, and an account can't be closed from the app. (Your handle can be changed — see Settings.)
