Hosting and performance
Uniweb hosts your site and handles the technical work that normally needs plugins, build tools, or a developer. You don't configure any of it — it's just how published sites behave. This page explains what's taken care of for you.
What's handled automatically
- Image optimization. Images you upload are processed into multiple sizes and modern formats (including optimized WebP), so the right size is delivered to each visitor. You don't compress or resize anything yourself.
- Global delivery (CDN). Your site's files are served from a content delivery network, so pages load quickly for visitors anywhere.
- Caching and compression. Industry-standard caching and compression are built in.
- Search-engine basics (SEO). Canonical URLs, per-language URLs, and metadata are handled for you, so search engines can index your site correctly.
None of this requires setup. Publishing is all it takes.
How published sites load
What visitors experience today:
- the first page may take a brief moment to load as the site starts up;
- after that, moving between pages is near-instant, with no waiting for full reloads.
What affects your site's speed
Most performance is handled for you, but your content choices still matter a little:
- very large media adds weight — Uniweb optimizes images automatically, but huge videos or many heavy embeds can slow a page;
- a page with a great many sections or items will do more work than a lean one.
For the vast majority of sites, the built-in optimization is more than enough — you can focus on content and trust the hosting to keep it fast.
What you don't manage
There are no servers to maintain, no build pipelines to configure, no caching rules to tune, and no performance plugins to install. The hosting is part of the product. The only thing you do is publish.
